201711 - November/December 2017

Jason Mandlowitz, Temple President

On behalf of our Board I want to extend to all members our wishes for good health and peace for theNew Year. Our High Holy Day services and programs were a great success and we will soon start our planning for 5779. We invite members to share their High Holy Day experiences with myself and/or theRabbi and to provide suggestions for next year.

As I stated in my President’s Speech on both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the work at Temple Israel continues. Our agenda includes undertaking a review of our Constitution, addressing succession for our
Execuve and Board, encouraging member engagement in our Social Acon Committee and Long Term Financial Planning Committee, and establishing a President’s Advisory Committee. For me personally a
top priority continues to be our Religious School with the goal of ensuring that our curriculum and educaon programs are fully financed and continue to meet the needs of our students and their families.

From a financial perspective we are closely tracking our budget and expenditures. We are fully committed to meeting our goal of a balanced budget for 2017-2018. You can help! If you have not yet fulfilled your annual dues
commitment – please do so as soon as possible. You can recognize a life cycle event by making a donation to one of our donation funds. You can sponsor a future program such as Purim or Passover.

REMINDER – the Temple Israel Annual Meeting is scheduled for November 12, 2017, at 3:00 PM. This is your opportunity to receive an update on our financial position and all of our activities. We look forward to seeing as many of our members as possible.

Jason Mandlowitz, Temple President
