Temple Israel participates in many Interfaith activities in the city of London, Ontario. Rabbi Dressler participates in the London Multi-Faith Social Action Coalition and Abraham’s Café at the London Public Library.
 Our  members participate in the Re-Forest London Interfaith Tree Planting events, London & Area Food Bank, London Interfaith Peace Camp, Kings University College Centre  for Jewish, Catholic, Muslim Learning.
Also, our Social Action programs benefit people of all faiths


Members of Temple Israel’s Social Action Committee participated in an Interfaith Tree-Planting project with ReForest London in June, 2014 at a new park adjacent to a school in South London.  Rabbi Debra Dressler, Pastor Paul Browning of Trinity United Church, and Imam Abd Alfatah Twakkal of the London Muslim Mosque opened the program with short talks about the significance of trees to our respective faith communities.

Working together and respecting each other is The Canadian Way.

London Interfaith Peace Camp 2016

The week of August 15th to 19th s2016 aw the fourth annual London

Interfaith Peace Camp, held (mostly) at King’s University College.

Based on the model created at Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia

and brought to London in 2013 by a group of clergy including Rabbi

Debra Dressler, this year’s camp was the biggest ever with almost 60

campers and 17 teenage counselors and other volunteers. Rabbi Dressler

talked about Judaism with the kids and as a special treat, Joel Frank,

whose Bar Mitzvah was coming up just four days later, chanted his

parasha for his fellow campers. As in past years, there were nothing but

good feelings among all involved.

Word of London’s interfaith initiative is spreading. Rabbi Audrey

Pollack of Solel Congregation in Mississauga visited the camp to find

out more and was so enthusiastic that she wants to bring this kind of

experience to her community. As well as news stories by CTV London

and the London Free Press, the coverage from non-London media was

very positive. As always, this was a great week for ALL of our
